Our client, a global manufacturer in the process industry, approached us to help rethink their approach to rolling out their new warehouse management system (WMS) across the globe. Using our systematic innovation methods, we reframed the question to make it about rapidly scaling their ability to deliver maximum logistics performance for their customers. This involved rethinking WMS rollouts, moving from site-by-site sequential rollout projects to a multi-site capability-localization approach, while also tapping into their wider performance-enhancing potential and overcoming limiting factors, such as team capabilities, infrastructure requirements and customer commitments. This approach gave the client a realistic opportunity to accelerate global deployment timelines while improving performance consistency across all locations.
